There doesn't need to exist one. But sometimes I need to please my brain a bit, so here we are.
What is the reason of living, if we are going to die? Why do we start reading a book, knowing that it will end?
Because our existence isn't isolated. And the meaning of the book isn't exactly itself. One existence can inspire others. A book can give other authors ideas.
Therefore, not the solitude of a life, or a book as an island.
We are going to die, and that's not bad. But even after year or decades, our existence will have made sense for our family, our friends. Especially if we have descendants, which is our objective as animals.
But think. You inspired someone. This person will inspire others. There will be a little of you there. And this will multiply across generations, to the infinite. If you ever watered a flower, and it multiplied, this will be felt forever. Your body has returned to the earth. Little creatures will feast upon it. They too will die and become something else. Your body and mind will become eternal.
Your body returning to the Earth. Your mind inspiring others.
There's a greater meaning in art. It can keep inspiring a long time after the end. And it doesn't matter if they forget your drawing, your music. Because the inspiration inherited by other generations is there, somewhere. It's not a matter of preserving, but of transforming. The magic of movement, of vibration.
There's no need to worry for the end of the world or the universe. We can forget this for a brief moment and feel the breath of existence. Because even a life that lasts one second, will have affected others forever. And that's why there has always been a meaning to it all.
And for those who never see sense or reason...it doesn't matter. What is important, is to feel.
